Midwest Account Manager

Job Description: 

The Account Manager is an experienced sales and business development professional who will be responsible for managing the business relationship with key customers and generating incremental growth with new customers.  The account manager will be involved with overseeing and participating in activities such as bids, trade shows, customer relationship management, forecasting, strategy setting and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of strategic account strategies based on customer’s needs that will define short, medium, and long-term action plans for relevant accounts as agreed with sales management that will result in long term relationships and continued growth.

  • Be the main point of contact with the customer and responsible for all interactions with the relevant accounts including but not limited to sales, marketing, production planning, and quality.

  • Plan and prepare regular visits and quarterly business reviews with assigned accounts.  Track and follow-up on progress to developed action plans and report internally and externally to all relevant stakeholders as needed.

  • Develop relationships with potential accounts and key decision makers.

  • Create high quality proposals and presentations and be able to deliver the appropriate messaging in a positive and professional manner.

  • Prepare quotes in line with relevant guidelines, propose appropriate commercial solutions, and negotiate agreements (i.e. pricing, LTA, warranty, etc.) following direction from sales management.

  • Achieve sales goals by building a high quality pipeline of information and analysis by utilizing CRM tools (Salesforce).

  • Maintain a high degree of industry and product knowledge.  Monitor, identify and communicate market trends, competitive activity, and develop action plans that could enhance products, services, customer satisfaction, and/or sales potential.

  • Participate in cross-functional and internal projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Engineering, Sales Management.

  • Must have 3-5+ years experience working for an OEM or OEM supplier, preferably in the Heavy Duty Segment (On Road or Off Road).  Automotive segment experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships, working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams, internal and all stakeholders, developing and executing strategies to deliver business results. Uncompromising attention to detail, high standards on achieving results with proven success working in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach to the role

  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.

  • Hands-on channel sales experience with a proven track record in reaching and exceeding sales goals.

  • Ability to quickly learn, identify problems and bring forth solutions working with cross-functional teams with a collaborative team mindset.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Thorough demonstrated knowledge and skills with Excel, Power Point, Word.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills (written and verbal) including being decisive and a team mindset.

  • Independent go getter – ability to take directions and bring back completed projects with minimum direction.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience working in or with the Heavy Duty On Road and/or Off Road Industry.

  • Technical competency with mobile video systems (cameras, monitors, DVRs, sensors)

  • Experience effectively utilizing CRM software to drive results.

  • Working knowledge of QMS systems at an OEM level.

  • Project Management experience, preferably leading development projects from inception to launch.

 

Location:

  • Remote / Virtual Location – Midwest (Greater Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Detroit, Minneapolis areas will be considered).
